Informed Publishing, the trusted leader in emergency reference information, introduced the original EMS Field Guide® in 1986. Today it is still the most widely used reference in EMS history, trusted by millions of paramedics, nurses and physicians. Whether you are a student or a 20-year veteran of emergency medical services, this guide gives you fingertip access to all the essential information you need to perform your job.

This app puts critical information at your fingertips with rich content, detailed illustrations and pioneering features. The EMS Field Guide app is available in two editions, BLS and ACLS, each designed specifically to correspond with the respective tier of EMT certification and practice—so you know you have the right tool for your job.

The Basic & Intermediate (BLS) app is designed for those with entry- through immediate-levels of EMT certification. It is updated with the latest cardiac arrest and CPR guidelines from the American Heart Association. This edition features the latest EMS protocols, and information about EKGs, home medications and much more. This is the resource you will use in classroom training and in practice throughout your career.

The Advanced Life Support (ACLS) app equips the Paramedic or EMT-P to triage and address trauma.

Pros and cons of EMS BLS Guide app for iPhone and iPad

EMS BLS Guide app good for

Very handy app for the new paramedic. I also have the book, but the app is with me all the time. Great refresher on the way to a call.
I use this app all the time, and it is defenitely worth it, I bought it after i purchased the handbook, and it supliments it perfectly. Its about time EMS providers got some apps worth having.
The book was great before I purchased the iPhone, this app is even better.
This app. Is amazing. Such a great useful tool at just the click of a button. It goes into such great detail in case some skills are a little rusty while on the job. I recommended this app to fellow class mates who are pursuing EMS & they love it as well.
Great little guide covering many topics. Simple and quick to access info. 5 stars.
Great app! Good to use as a refresher tool to keep current with your skills, well worth the price too.

Some bad moments

I like the idea behind this app, unfortunately it leaves a lot to be desired. I purchased this app because my niece is a rookie EMT. I was looking through it and I couldnt find a lot of very basic but important information. For example, normal respiratory rates. I even tried searching for "respiratory rates," "breathing rates," "breaths per minute," and several others. No luck what so ever. Not even in Respiratory Distress category. This is just one example of many. There seems to be more than just the very basic missing. Too bad!
Very little info for 6$. Not very helpful for anyone taking an emtb course as all the good info pertains to als and additional info is very general. I would not recommend wasting your money.
Design flaw makes it impossible to access the "continue reading" buttons at the bottom of some pages. I cant access a lot of the content. Too bad, because what I can see is pretty good.
I bought the app it worked the first day. Now every time I open it its blank and cant do anything.
There Are a lot of bugs. and problems that need to be taken care of. I enjoy the app it has good information but there are issues regarding crashes, not being able to change the page, and slowness. Again I enjoy the app, but I hope that the app does get a new update which will fix this.
